Essays are being accepted for the 2019-20 Club Level essay contest. The contest is open to students under age 19 as of October 1, 2019, who are not enrolled as a degree seeking student of a post-secondary institution. This contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people their own views around a central idea.

The Pittsburgh North Optimist Foundation, in conjunction with Optimist International Foundation, is participating in this year’s 2018-2019 Optimist International Essay Contest. Optimist International provides the topic upon which youth write an essay. Schools in southern Jefferson County are contacted to encourage participation. Our club's winners go on to the East Missouri District contest to compete for scholarship funds.
