More than 5,000 golfers compete in official Optimist District qualifying tournaments. Optimist International sponsors three scholarship contests for students to earn money to pursue opportunities in higher education: the Essay Contest, the Oratorical Contest, and the Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH).
